About Camp Aranzazu
Camp Aranzazu
is dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with chronic
illnesses and disabilities by providing unique camping, environmental
studies, and retreat experiences to groups with special needs. This
mission is accomplished based on an ecumenical understanding that, as
people of God, we are called to demonstrate love and compassion for one
another, and responsibility for our environment.
I, Kimmi Norvell, have experienced this mission first-hand when I volunteered to teach yoga for campers in August of last year. I was immediately intrigued and impressed at all they were doing for the children. I was inspired by the joy and appreciation all the campers showed me and the camp counselors. This inspiration blossomed into an idea for a wellness retreat and with the helping hand of all the volunteers, has come to a reality. We thank you for taking an interest in the growth and vitality of such an awesome host facility like Camp Aranzazu. All proceeds from the Camp Aranzazu Wellness Retreat & Benefit will go back to Camp Aranzazu as they are in the process of raising funds for a health center. This is going to be a place where children can come to camp to receive dialysis, chemotherapy and other various treatments in a more inviting and comfortable environment than a hospital.
