About Rockport Yoga

Rockport Yoga is owned and operated by Kimmi Norvell, RYT 200 and has been established since January of 2009. She offers classes throughout the area including Rockport and Aransas Pass. Kimmi is a certified Yogiños: Yoga for Youth® instructor and has taught children since January of 2010. Kimmi also dedicates her yoga instruction to local non-profits helping youths and adults experience yoga that would otherwise be unable to do so. Check out the Camp Aranzazu Wellness Retreat & Benefit page to learn about her latest adventure.

What to Expect

Predominately teaching Hatha yoga, Kimmi will intertwine other forms of yoga, simple, mini-meditations, guided breath work and partner poses into her classes. Kimmi strives to create a peaceful, harmonious and fun atmosphere in all her classes. Hatha Yoga means the union (Yoga) of the sun (Ha) and moon (Tha) in an ancient Indian language called Sanskrit. The practice of Hatha Yoga typically begins with a mini-meditation or focused breath work to bring the mind to the mat. This is followed by asanas or yoga poses and postures that can be active or relaxing. A student is always free to request the type of class they need. A guided relaxation is meshed into every class to leave you feeling refreshed, invigorated and centered.

All level students benefit and will receive individual attention and modifications as necessary. Classical Hatha Yoga will enhance your overall health, improve your stamina, and increase your flexibility, focus and balance, creating a mental, physical and emotional sense of well-being. The meaning of yoga is union and to Kimmi, yoga means connection. We all strive to connect to different things in our lives and a consistent yoga practice will help one connect with the mind, body and spirit. In yoga, we connect with our breath, our movements, our limitations and our egos (to name just a few). Some take yoga for the physical, some for the mental but a dedicated practice will give you exactly what you are seeking. Can you think of any other part of your day where you may take an hour or more and look within without all the outside distractions? What are waiting for? Come join us today!
